Michelle Richmond's most recent books are the political thriller GOLDEN STATE, which imagines modern-day California on the brink of secession, and the story collection HUM, winner of the Catherine Doctorow Innovative Fiction Prize. Both were published in 2014.
She is also the author of the New York Times bestseller THE YEAR OF FOG, which was a Library Journal book of the year; NO ONE YOU KNOW, DREAM OF THE BLUE ROOM, and the story collection THE GIRL IN THE FALL-AWAY DRESS, winner of the Grace Paley Prize for Fiction.
Michelle holds an MFA from the University of Miami, where she was a James Michener Fellow. Since 2010, she has served on the board of the Authors Guild. She lives in Northern California with her husband and son.
