In conversation with Kate Mulgrew at The Chapel in San Francisco. Details and tickets here.

We know Kate Mulgrew for the strong women she’s played–Captain Janeway on Star Trek; the tough-as-nails “Red” on Orange is the New Black. Now, we meet the most inspiring and memorable character of all: herself. By turns irreverent and soulful, laugh-out-loud funny and heart-piercingly sad, BORN WITH TEETH is the breathtaking memoir of a woman who dares to live life to the fullest, on her own terms.

Erotic Shipwreck with Daniel Handler (aka Lemony Snickett) at The Booksmith. I can’t really explain Shipwreck. You just have to be there to hear me and other authors read sordid stories we’ve written based on the vile Count Olaf. Lemony Snicket himself will read the stories, and the crowd, hopefully two sheets to the wind, will judge. Did I mention the open bar?
