iraqi civilian deaths
This article in Time Magazine describes the death of 15 civilians at the hands of Marines in Haditha, Iraq, last November. A number of the victims were women and children; the youngest was only two years old. In light of this event, in addition to Abu Ghraib (which strangely seems to have been pretty much forgotten) and the continued violence resulting from the U.S. occupation, how is it possible for George W. Bush to hold a press conference today insisting upon the justness of this war? His continued line that it is a war for democracy seems all the more ludicrous when one considers the fact that our government has been illegally spying on its own citizens.
