NEWS:

short story contests

June 20th, 2006 by Michelle

Mirtika at Mirathon just posted a list of upcoming story contests, including some good standards and some interesting ones I’ve never heard of. If you’ve got the entry fee (usually $10-$20) and are feeling talented and/or lucky, check it out.
Meanwhile, Max over at The Millions lists the most anticipated books of 2006, part 2. And Slushpile talks about murder & mayhem.

Over time it has evolved into a more eclectic venture, with posts on books, politics, current events, literary happenings in the San Francisco Bay Area, publishing news, the writing life, and writing exercises. This blog is written by Michelle Richmond, author of four books of fiction: The Year of Fog, Dream of the Blue Room, The Girl in the Fall-Away Dress, and No One You Know (forthcoming, 2008).
