visual thesaurs

June 26th, 2006 by Michelle

There’s a cool new site called Visual Thesaurus. Basically, you type in a word and VT provides a map of related words, each of which contains an article or audio file. It’s something of a linguistic treasure hunt. You can try it out for free, but to really explore it you need to subscribe. Each week, VT features a different author. So you guessed it, I’m blogging about it today because I’m this week’s author. The article is taken from the backstory I wrote for MJ Rose’s site. Click here to see a number of authors talking about what inspired their work.

About Sans Serif

Sans Serif began as a literary blog in September of 2005. Over time it has evolved into a more eclectic venture, with posts on books, politics, current events, literary happenings in the San Francisco Bay Area, publishing news, the writing life, and writing exercises. This blog is written by Michelle Richmond, author of four books of fiction: The Year of Fog, Dream of the Blue Room, The Girl in the Fall-Away Dress, and No One You Know (forthcoming, 2008).
