Her rates are competitive, and she’ll do the photo session in your home or at another location of your choice. If you’ve got the entry fee (usually $10-$20) and are feeling talented and/or lucky, check it out. Meanwhile, Max over at The Millions lists the most anticipated books of 2006, part 2. fallaway redux

The title story from my first book, the story collection The Girl in the Fall-Away Dress, is currently up at The National Literary Review, edited by Erie Chapman. This is the journal’s second issue, and I look forward to watching its progress. Each issue includes a story, poetry and artwork. The first issue featured poetry by Mark Jarman, and the new issue includes a retrospective on the photography of Edward Weston.

Clean Well-Lighted Officially Closing its Doors

When beloved San Francisco bookstore A Clean Well-Lighted Place announced last month that it was up for sale, Bay Area writers and readers knew it probably wouldn’t be long before the store closed for good. Now, after three decades of being central to the Bay Area literary community, the store is officially closing.
