new mags, & a contest reminder

August 10th, 2006 by Michelle

Marc Phillips of the sassy new litmag BLOW links to another recent addition to the litzine scene, Monday Night. Now in its fifth issue, Monday Night publishes stuff like this, Ishle Yi Park’s sardonic “Marine Rules.” Both BLOW and Monday Night are primarily print publications. BLOW is now accepting submissions; Monday Night is not. The first issue of BLOW will be out soon.

Also, remember that the deadline for the Emerging Writers Network short story contest, to be judged by Charles D’Ambrosio, is just around the corner. The deadline is August 15, the fee is $10, and the prize is five hundred bucks and publication on EWN.
