space

February 6th, 2007 by Michelle

Here’s Colleen Shipman, the victim of an alleged attempted kidnapping (and now attempted murder charges have been added to boot) by NASA astronaut Lisa Marie Nowak. This 2002 Penn State U photo of Shipman is from the Houston Chronicle blog.
Colleen Shipman Surely this would be an itty bitty local story were it not for the fact that we invest our astronauts, even today, with a kind of mythical esteem. After all, very few of us will ever have the chance to go into space.
