Last night, Kevin and I went to Epic Roasthouse, Pat Kuleto’s new venture on the Embarkadero. Having followed a bit of the controversy about the new building, we wanted to see what all the fuss was about. The View: Inside, a wall of glass looks up and out to stunning views of the Bay Bridge. I just received the prettiest bouquet of roses from my publisher, with a note that said, “Dear Michelle, Congratulations on your very first New York Times bestseller.” Well, I would like to be very dignified and nonchalant about this, but I just about peed in my pants, as we say down in Alabama. Books to Look for in April

Via SF Girl by Bay, this monthly blog in the New York Times by artist Maira Kalman. It’s actually an old blog, looks as though it’s no longer updated, but it’s fun to peruse. Will post soon on: The Story of a Marriage, the forthcoming novel by Andrew Sean Greer, a worthy and beautifully written follow-up to Confessions of Max Tivoli. Actually read it about a month ago when the ARC came in the mail, but I’ve been so busy with my new book (which is going into production today…woo-hoo!) that I haven’t had time to post on it....
