June 24th will mark the 27th birthday of Jason Jolkowski, who disappeared at the age of 19 from his family’s driveway in Omaha, Nebraska, on June 13, 2001. He has not been seen or heard from since. His cell phone has never been used, and his bank account has never been accessed. He simply disappeared without a trace one morning while he was outside bringing in trash cans. Karen Moncrieff has signed on with Newmarket Films and Andrew Lauren Productions to direct the film adaptation of THE YEAR OF FOG. The Wednesday Sisters is a heartwarming novel about the joys and complications of friendship, an inspiring story for anyone who has dared to dream big. Clayton’s characters are the kind of women you can imagine joining on the park bench—for a good laugh, a good cry, or a spirited conversation about literature and life. Meg will read from and sign her new book on Thursday,...

Check out the fabulous new blog Real Americana, wherein David Wolking waxes poetic on everything from roadside carnivals (courtesy of the Electric Lion’s Club), to Mama Sim’s waffles, and Hormel’s Mary Kitchen Corned Beef Hash in a can. David and Misty (she’s my sister, and yes, that’s her real name, and yes, you wish you knew her) like food, and there’s a lot of it on this blog. There are also some savory characters, good pictures, and jazzy prose. For those who road trip and those who only think about it, here’s a taste: Sweet Mary. We rolled out...
