Minnesota Republican Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann told Chris Matthews today that members of Congress should be investigated by the press to see whether they’re pro-American or anti-American. And this is the party of small government? Here’s her exact quote:
“What I would say is that the news media should do a penetrating expose and take a look. I wish they would. I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out if they are pro-America or anti-America,” she said.
Let me get it straight. She thinks that people who have made a career out of serving their constituents in Congress are doing it in order to, let’s see, undermine the American government?
