Falcon Heene: a pleasant distraction (video)
Is six-year-old Falcon Heene a kid who got scared and hid in the attic, or was he the pawn in his family’s publicity stunt? Either way, he’s cute, and the balloon boy saga was a riveting human interest story for a few hours yesterday, the sort of story where just about anyone who tuned in was hoping for the best while fearing the worst. It created a rare sensation in the news cycle, in that most viewers were united in their desire for the same outcome: a happy ending. A pleasant distraction from the more serious matters of health care reform and the war in Afghanistan? Sure, but sometimes we can use a distraction.
