Alana Morales Is Domestically Challenged!

Are you? Here’s the place to commiserate. And check out Morales’s new book, Domestically Challenged: A Working Mom’s Survival Guide to Becoming A Stay At Home Mom. Alana recently stopped by on the Girlfriends Cyber Circuit Tour to talk about her literary soundtrack (or lack thereof).

Asked what she listened to while writing the book, Alana said, “I honestly didn’t listen to anything. I have two very loud kids and it was nice to work to some quiet. I did like the music in Barnes and Noble when I went there to work.”

And what song title does she think would make a great book title? ” Just Another Manic Monday! I am always frantically trying to get everything done and still write – it’s the story of my life.” (This is bringing back Bangles memories. Oh, how I loved them. The sound, the look, esp. the banana up-do they made famous).

About the Book:
When you decided to stay at home, you probably thought about the quality time you’d spend with your kids and the wonderful meals you would cook. Maybe you even thought you would do some decorating or take up yoga. Later you realized things would be different. Your house is messier. You still have days where the kids drive you crazy. And then you wonder – what did I get myself into?

Relax. Domestically Challenged can help. Written as a humorous guidebook, this book will show new stay at home moms how to:
• Keep the kids entertained without hiring a circus
• Find ways to keep up with housework, short of hiring a housekeeper (though we’d like to!)
• Deal with the emotional aspects of her new job (including boredom and every mom’s favorite – guilt)
• And do such outlandish things such as finding time for herself.

Alana also writes the Mommy Time Outs Newsletter and the Family Business column.
