Kirk Nesset of Pennsylvania won the 2007 Drue Heinz Literature Prize for the story collection Paradise Road. The manuscript, which was selected by Hilary Masters, will be published by University of Pittsburgh Press in Fall 2007.

The winner of the Chicago Tribune Literary Prize for lifetime achievement is Joyce Carol Oates. Louise Erdrich has won the Heartland Prize for fiction, and the Heartland Prize for nonfiction goes to Taylor Branch.
