I’ll admit it: I have a problem with commitment. It’s so difficult to bring a new sofa or chair or table into my home. What if, a couple of years down the line, I discover that the relationship just wasn’t meant to last? Not so easy to get rid of a sofa. A sofa is like a man: once you bring it home and give it permanent residence, you’re stuck with it for years. That’s why I love pillows. A pillow can be discarded. You don’t have to live with it forever. You can get snuggle with it, rest your head on it while watching Top Chef or Top Gear. You can cry on it, throw it across the room. The cat can scratch it up a bit. Your kids can build forts with it. You can use it as a laptop rest. It is versatile and, ultimately, disposable.
Pillows are also a great way to add color and pattern to a room. My favorites at the moment are chevron stripes, which are in everything from ottomans and table runners to duvets and yes, of course, pillows. Here, a few great chevron stripe pillows, with a few other stripes thrown in for good measure.
