When I Was A Loser: (True) Stories of Barely Surviving High School, edited by John McNally, is just out. McNally talked with Neal Conan on Talk of the Nation today. Contributors include Kelly Braffett, Maud Newton, Julianna Baggott, Brad Land, Tod Goldberg, and yours truly, among others.
Mine: a 5-page quickie about misguided evangelism. Today, Maud Newton posted a “loser-matching contest” on her blog, whereby you try to pair the old high school photo with the author. Sadly, all of my high school photos are in my mother’s house in Mobile, Alabama, so I didn’t send one in. Which is probably a good thing, considering how seriously I took those Breck hair commercials.
