Yellowcake, the first novel by the author of the acclaimed story collection Red Ant House, is just out. Fans of Red Ant House will recognize Cummins’s sharp eye and wisdom, which she brings to this story about two families in the American Southwest–one Navajo, one white–facing the after-effects of the uranium mine that once sustained their small town.
